Quality first and foremost Experts in the wood-processing industry CTS’s comprehensive know-how and in-depth knowledge of the wood processing industry covers the pulp, paper and board industries as well as environmental issues related to their processes and the planning of energy usage. Preparation of chemical and mechanical pulps CTS has long-standing experience and good references of the engineering of various pulp processes. Project implementations include pulp mills, groundwood plants, PGW-, TMP- and CTMP-plants, and also recycled fibre treatment. New solutions can be found for reducing energy consumption in production processes and for reusing the energy produced in the process. Minimizing the environmental load caused by pulp and stock preparation is already taken into consideration at the engineering phase of the process. New process and equipment solutions make it possible to close the water circulation and minimize emissions to the atmosphere. Paper and Board manufacture CTS has been entrusted with extensive consulting, project management, basic and detailed engineering tasks for a great number of significant paper and board manufacturers around the world. CTS’s flexible organization and working methods are particularly adapted for implementing rebuild projects. CTS’s trade mark is the overall know-how, economic solutions, project management and support in training, erection and start-up. The tendency in the paper and board industry is, on one hand, to create bigger companies and production units to improve international competitiveness and, on the other hand, to establish smaller units specializing in smaller customer and product sectors. Environmentally friendly solutions and the reduction of energy consumption will become competition issues. A rebuild yields short term profit A well-performed rebuild rapidly enhances the competitiveness of a unit. The investment cost of a modernization is low when compared to a new investment, tying-up less capital and paying itself back in a short time. When correctly planned and organized, a rebuild requires only a brief period of production downtime. The goals of a rebuild project are the shortest possible downtime, quick start-up to full production and quality, a short payback time and good profitability Secondhand mills Equipment within the pulp and paper industry is to an increasing extent refurbished and then delivered to another country, where it can operate economically for years. CTS has implemented several projects in which a new production facility is based on second-hand equipment. Our engineering services are based on flexible mode of action and on utilization of EDP systems throughout the engineering phase.
